Ingleton
Ingleton is a busy place with tea rooms, cycle hire, hotel, bed and breakfasts, restaurants, antique and bric a brac shops. It is very popular with walkers, climbers, cavers, potholers, cyclists and bikers who use the village as a base to explore the northern Dales.
The White Scar caves of Ingleton are rightly famous and an underground tour can take up to 80 minutes to complete - but worth it It is open all year round and can be found just outside of Ingleton on the B6255 road to Hawes. Waterfalls are another natural attraction in Ingleton and organised waterfall walks take place through woodland gorges with spectacular scenery. Ingleton is one of the few places to have an outdoor swimming pool and it is open between the last Sunday in May until the August Bank Holiday.
Accommodation is available from bed and breakfasts to country inns. Self-catering accommodation can be found in holiday cottages, converted barns, and camping and caravan sites nearby.
Located right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, just off the A65, between Settle and Kirkby Lonsdale.
