Settle
Home > Settle | Ribblesdale is a part of the dales which is often overlooked despite being an area of outstanding natural beauty. The three towering summits of Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside stand watch over the spectacular terrain. Open rock scars and rare limestone pavements are peppered across the dale and there are miles of intricate caves deep below the surface creating an allure to intrepid cavers and climbers. |
| Settle dates back as a market town to 1249 and still has a bustling weekly market on tuesdays. The town has quaint buildings, a wealth of walks and unrivalled appeal. There are many bed and breakfasts, guest houses and hotels to choose from as well as self-catering holiday cottages which offer a more independent feel to the accommodation. In the summer camping and caravanning sites are normally packed but there is always room so don't be shy to have a look! |
| Located just off the A65, west of Skipton and Grassington, Settle has its own railway station and great road links. |
