 | In the Tudor times, the magnificent Minster was completed after 250 years. It is the largest medieval cathedral in Northern Europe and dominates the York landscape. | There are masses of shops to choose from in the centre and the McArther Glen Designer Outlet store just outside of York offers up-to 50% off designer labels. The Shambles is famous for its little boutiques and quirky shops and is located very close to the Minster. During the summer, the races at York are a popular event. Staging Royal Ascot at York in 2005, the racecourse is world class. With meetings in June, July, August September and October, the opportunity is not to be missed.
